Combined Autism & ADHD Evaluations
WONDERING ABOUT AUTISM, ADHD, OR BOTH?
If you're exploring autism or ADHD for yourself or your child, you may be looking for answers that help make sense of everyday experiences. Our comprehensive evaluations consider autism, ADHD, and other relevant factors while taking the time to understand each person's unique strengths, challenges, and needs. We help you put the pieces together, develop a deeper understanding of yourself or your child, and identify practical ways to move forward with greater confidence.
Do Any of These Sound Familiar?
Attention and focus can be inconsistent. You or your child may become deeply absorbed in certain interests while struggling to stay engaged with other tasks or shift attention when needed.
Everyday responsibilities can take considerable effort. Getting started, organizing tasks, managing time, or following through can be difficult, even when the task is important.
Routines can be both helpful and difficult to maintain. Predictability and structure may feel important, yet transitions, unexpected changes, or maintaining consistent routines can still be challenging.
Social situations can require extra energy. Navigating conversations, group interactions, or unspoken expectations may take conscious effort, even when connecting with others is enjoyable.
Sensory experiences can affect everyday life. Sounds, lighting, clothing textures, or busy environments may be overwhelming or make it difficult to feel comfortable and focused.
The effort involved isn't always visible to others. Someone may appear to be doing well at school, work, or socially while putting considerable energy into managing daily expectations and feeling exhausted afterward.
You don't need to know whether autism, ADHD, or both are involved before seeking an evaluation. We can help you better understand these experiences and identify supports that fit your or your child's needs.
ANSWERS THAT HELP YOU KNOW WHAT TO DO NEXT
A comprehensive evaluation can help explain why certain aspects of everyday life come naturally while others require considerable effort. We look at how autism, ADHD, and other factors may shape attention, learning, communication, emotional well-being, and daily experiences, while developing a fuller understanding of what makes each person unique.
Throughout the process, we take time to understand your experiences, answer your questions, and help you make sense of what we learn. You'll receive a detailed report with individualized recommendations, including practical strategies, accommodations, and supports for home, school, work, and everyday life. Our goal is for you to leave the evaluation feeling understood, informed, and more confident about your next steps.
How it Works
What Happens During a Combined Autism and ADHD Evaluation?
Step 1: Intake (1 to 2 hours)
We begin with a virtual meeting to learn about you or your child, including developmental history, current concerns, strengths, and what you hope to gain from the evaluation. For children and teens, parents or caregivers typically participate, and the child may also be involved. This conversation helps us tailor the evaluation to each person's individual needs.
Step 2: Testing (3 to 5 hours)
The in-person testing appointment typically takes place about one week after the intake. Testing includes a combination of structured tasks, questionnaires, and other activities designed to explore autism, ADHD, and other relevant areas of development and functioning. The specific measures are selected based on age, individual needs, and the questions being evaluated. Breaks are available as needed, and testing can sometimes be divided across more than one day.
Step 3: Feedback (1 to 2 hours)
About two to three weeks after testing, we meet virtually to review the findings, discuss any diagnoses, answer questions, and talk through practical next steps. You'll also receive a comprehensive written report that brings together the results and provides individualized recommendations for home, school, work, and everyday life.

Autism and ADHD frequently occur together, and some of their characteristics overlap.
